07.07.2020 - 14:30
We are seeking to hire a doctoral researcher for a project newly funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The project title is “Contract-based coordination of multi-level fresh food supply chains with the aim of reducing food waste.” It provides an opportunity to work on new and upcoming topics in the field of sustainable supply chain management that provides an excellent springboard for a career in industry as well as in academia.
The project focuses on coordination and collaboration aspects between actors in food supply chains (e.g., retailers and food producers), with the specific emphasis on perishable food products, e.g., fresh produce, meat, or dairy products. The goal is to gain structural insights into how different contract models directly affect decision-making processes and thus indirectly affect food waste across the entire food supply chain. Its purpose is to develop contracting mechanisms that are more efficient both from an economic and a sustainability point of view. The successful candidate will work closely together with Prof. Dr. Sandra Transchel, Professor of Supply Chain and Operations Management.
SALARY AND CONDITIONS
The position has a duration of 4 years and can be filled on mutual agreement as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be employed with a 75% contract following common DFG practice.
